- What obstacles have you encountered while working out either mentally or physically? (1-2 paragraphs)
- How have these obstacles affected your overall feelings toward exercise? Did they help or hurt you in the long run? (1-2 paragraphs)
This incident alone hasn’t really changed my feelings toward exercise. After I was healed, I wasn’t afraid of further injury while working out. Although it was hard to get back into the routine of working out, I still enjoyed the experience and was excited to get back into shape and build up my resistance. In the long run, I would say this experience hurt me rather than helped me. Although it was an experience to learn and grow from, the leave of absence I had to take to recover was damaging to my exercise routine. But, I feel that since this happened, I am now less prone to have it happen again. Now I know to be more careful when doing exercise, and not to leave injury unattended. If I would have let my ankle heal and dealt with the problem at the time, it wouldn’t have taken so long to heal. But, now that I’ve learned from the experience, I’ll remember to take care of myself more when working out.
