Process:
I started the process of creating a kaleidoscope in Starlogo by first opening the application and figuring out how to use the controls. Once I figured out how to use the programing in Starlogo, creating code was a lot easier. I figured out how to make different shapes and patterns that I could use to create the final product, and once I decided on my final design, I was able to use my knowledge of pattern design to create the kaleidoscope.
Reflection:
The habit of a mathematician I used well during this project was staying organized. It would have been very difficult to try and do this project with all different portions of coding all in the wrong sections. Staying small and using only what I needed helped me complete this project easily and in time. A lot went wrong in the beginning of this project, at first, I couldn't figure out how to get certain pieces of code to fit together. I spent a lot of time trying to fit two pieces together and it wasn't until I was told by one of my peers that those two pieces of code won't fit that I had to think of another approach. Another problem I encountered was finding pieces. Sometimes, when I was looking for a certain piece of code, I wouldn't be able to find the piece I needed, but, with the help of my teacher and peers, I was eventually able to find every piece. By the end of the project, everything went well, I was able to effortlessly find and place coding in order to create the rest of the piece.
