I did not have trouble answering the questions on the math portion of the CAHSEE. I felt I did good on all sections involving finding the length of triangles, area, setting up ratios, word problems, and any basic math. The only things I don't think I did well were the problems involving calculating volume because I couldn't remember the formula. When I found a problem that I didn't know how to solve, I underlined important information, I solved the problem to the best of my ability, then used the process of elimination to find the answer. The only area I think I could improve on is my time management skills. On some problems, I would spend a couple minutes trying to solve it. Then, if I really can't solve it, I will re-read it over and over expecting that if I read it just one more time, I will know the answer. But, this was never the case. Although I was able to compensate by spending only 30 seconds on some problems, I think I can better my time management skills. I could also improve on my abilities for correctly solving simple math the first time. When I approach a math problem involving simple math, such as 30*67, I will do it really quickly because I know how to do it. But, this often leads to sloppy mistakes, and is something I could improve on.
