Hello, common students, my name is Sherlock Holmes, I’m sure you all knew that you do look like quite a clever bunch of goldfish. Now, I am here today to talk to you about how to “deal” with difficult people. Well...pretty much how to manipulate people into doing what you need them to. The way I see it, the best way to deal those whose existence might be a bit toilsome, would innocently be to figure out who they are as people, then use that to get them do whatever you need them to do, whatever the case may be. Speaking of cases I haven’t properly introduced myself, my name is Detective Sherlock Holmes. The best detective in the world, actually, so, I need to know how to deal with people daily. Consulted by Scotland Yard, I have solved countless cases that they couldn’t, it’s almost insultingly simple, actually. Don’t go to the police with your problems they are utterly useless, in fact, if you listen to me, they will be coming to you. Everyone is difficult, trust me, I know. In fact, I’m sure everyone you have ever met has been reluctant in some way. Maybe your teacher refuses to give you an A even though you deserve it, maybe your mom won’t let you go off with your friends, but if you follow these steps, you can out think them. You can be smarter than them, you could live up to your full potential and finally start having things go your way without having to oblige to the rules others set for you. (write on board) Observe subject → make deduction → use information. Start by observing the subject, who is it you need to “deal with”. Start by looking at them. How do they stand? What do they wear? How do they speak? Look at their facial expressions, have they been crying? Do they look smug? Confused? Make a mental note of everything they are doing and anything that might be important. Next, you want to make your deductions. What does what you just learned mean? Why do they stand the way they stand? Do they need a cane? Do they have a limp? Have they been running? Remember what they are wearing, are they dressed for the heat or cold? Is there mud on their shoes? Remember their face? Why have they been crying? Does this mean that they are guilty of something? Angry? Happy? Once you have made your deductions and ultimately figured out their part in the situation and why they are being difficult, use the information. They have been crying? Pretend to be sad too, empathise with them, if they see you as an equal they are less likely to be difficult. Have they been running? Are there high impact mud splatters on the back of their pants? What have they been running from, perhaps they are afraid. Well maybe you might be afraid too. Figure out what troubles them and act like it troubles you, too. Mirror their actions and try to be like them, try to make yourself seem relatable, make them comfortable. You are smarter than them, you have control over them, you can finally make things go your way because you learned how to observe, deduce, then empathize. People will always be difficult, people are imbeciles, and they all have weak spots. You can find this weak spot and use it for your own advantage because with this (point to board) you have the upper hand. You can deal with even the most difficult people. Checkmate.
