-What have you improved since the first day?
Since the first day of class, I have improved greatly. I am better at pronunciation, verb conjugation, and overall comprehension. I learned to conjugate in the present progressive tense, and how to form basic sentences completely in Spanish.
-What specific study skills have you used?
This year, I have used studying off the notes page and making flash cards to help me study. I like making flash cards because I feel like when I make them, studying is not only easier but I retain the information more easily. For my final, my partner has come over to my house several times and we study together. I also have my native Spanish speaking friend Johanna Guatemala help me practice and she tells me if my pronunciation is correct.
-What are your specific areas of improvement?
I think I have a lot of improving to do overall. Considering I have only taken Spanish for a couple years, there are a lot of words I do not know, and a lot of way to conjugate that I have not learned. I can always practice my pronunciation and real time verb conjugation, too.
-If you were to take the final exam today, how would you do?
Not well. My partner and I are basing our conversation off of a loose script, that of which I only have about one page memorized. I have utilized the little class time I am given to work on the final, and I work a lot at home, it is just a very time consuming process.
-What are your specific next steps to practice for the final?
I am going to keep practicing with my partner and keep memorizing parts of the script every day.
-What do you want your final presentation to look like?
I want my final presentation to be professional but personal; I don't want it too look "staged" but rather genuine. I feel that with more practice, my partner and I will be able to achieve this.
